I led the end-to-end production of a theatrical performance, co-writing the script, directing the cast, and overseeing the creative and logistical execution of the show. The production was a comedic reinterpretation of Beauty and the Beast(consisting of even vernacular languages), and required balancing creativity with structure—from shaping the narrative and tone to coordinating rehearsals, casting, and final-stage execution. Working across these dimensions introduced me to the collaborative complexity of theatre as both an art form and an organized system.
As head of production, I managed a cast and crew of over 25 members, guiding character development during rehearsals and ensuring cohesion across performance elements. I worked closely with the technical team to integrate sound, lighting, and set design, learning how visual and auditory elements shape audience engagement. This experience taught me how behind-the-scenes decisions—timing, transitions, and staging—can dramatically influence how a performance is received.
Beyond the performance itself, theatre became a lesson in leadership and communication. Directing a diverse group required clarity, adaptability, and trust, especially under time constraints. The process strengthened my ability to lead collaboratively, communicate creative vision effectively, and bring a team together toward a shared outcome—skills that continue to shape how I approach leadership in other areas.
